Tate Modern – Clore Learning Centre

Main Contractor: Overbury ReaL

Overview: The new Clore Learning Centre is a suite of learning spaces including gallery-like areas for the display of work, a welcome room, 20 person cinema, an artist’s studio, seminar room and The McAulay Schools and Family Room for school groups and families to relax and eat their lunches within the gallery.

LSR provided a new MCCB panel board, submains and 3 distribution boards to serve the above areas, an intelligent lighting control system was installed along with LED luminaires. Emergency lighting operation was integrated into the existing central battery system and small power services and containment for data and audio visual systems was provided.
Key challenges included the scheduling of works so as not to disturb visitors and staff within a live gallery environment.
